Prudence & John: Tricia Huddas & Co Real Savannah Wedding

Prudence and John were married on an absolutely perfect October Saturday last year in Washington Square - a location that was picked long before there was even talk of a wedding. Prudence's parents have a house (pictured below) just off Washington Square and she has always envisioned herself walking out the front door and down the aisle to her groom...which is exactly what she did! Out of one door came the bridesmaids and the groomsmen from the other, followed by Prudence and her father for their big entrance! The beautiful flowers and decor were provided by Julie and her exceptional team at Garden on the Square

Following the very touching ceremony, officiated by the bride's uncle (her father's brother), the couple were whisked away in a horse and carriage for photos with the wedding party and some alone time with just the two of them. Guests took a short walk over to the Charles H. Morris Center for cocktail hour where they enjoyed drinks and hors d'oeuvres before heading into the main reception area for the party.

And, the reception was just that - a party! Being that the bride's family has a house in both Savannah and New Orleans, the couple wanted to incorporate some Big Easy elements into their wedding - complete with "Go" cups (what we affectionately call "To Go" cups here in Savannah), Mardi Gras beads, and a Zydeco player. Once the King and Queen were crowned, Leroy Thomas joined The Fabulous Clams and wowed the guests with his talents.

Let's not forget about the food because like New Orleans and Savannah are wonderful foodie cities, and guests certainly did not go home hungry that night! Not only did Chef Nick Mueller & Co. serve up delicious food, it just kept on coming and coming and coming! In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, the couple opted for a beignet action station with cafe au lait - if I closed my eyes, I felt like I was sitting at Cafe Du Mond in the French Quarter...

Begrudgingly, the party concluded with a sparkler send off where Prudence and John left in a classic car from Timeless Motor Coach.
